KYARA 伽羅 INCENSE STICK

Kyara is the highest grade of agarwood produced in Vietnam (Exceptional aloeswood, also known as Kananko), a rarely produced raw incense material, making it a scarce and expensive fragrant wood.

Kyara is formed in nature over many decades. It has a very noble and elegant aroma. The warm and deep scent of nutmeg and birch spreads with it, and the sweet scents of cistus and vetiver create an exotic lingering scent.

When a tree of the Aquilaria genus rots in the soil or becomes a dead tree, a fungus develops there. Over a long period of time, the place will turn into resin, and this part emits a fragrance. Agarwood with a particularly good fragrance is called Kyara.

Resinification occurs due to various factors in the natural world and the resination process of Kyara is mysterious. This valuable product created by the natural world can take nearly 100 years to resinify. In the past, it was the highest peak incense wood owned by powerful people such as emperors and shoguns to show off their status.
